It was a very hot day for a cool car show.
The plan by the Ford Owners Association was to move their car show from it’s normal date in July back to June in order to avoid the hot weather that is typically July. Not fooled, Mother Nature decided to move the July temperatures to June also. While the official temperature reading was a record 100 degrees in Atlanta (beating the previous high set in 1914) , our car thermometer ranged from 99 to 103 degrees on our drive back up GA-20 after the car show even on the tree shaded sections of the country road.
As hot as the day was, your Northeastern Georgia Mustang Club fielded six cars for this show. Alas for the first time in recent memory none of our cars came home with a trophy. The five Mustangs and one F-150 Lighting were polished to the nines but did not find favor when the votes were tallied.
