2005 to 2014 Mustang Takata Airbag Recall

For those 2005 – 2014 Mustang owners that have not yet had their vehicle’s Takata airbag recall completed, here is a great opportunity.

Ford has agreed to have technicians on-site at our March 21 Spring Pony Roundup at YearOne to complete the required recall.

If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, your part is to verify that your Mustang needs the Takata airbag inflator replaced and letting me know so I can in turn let Ford know how many repair kits to bring to the show.

Check your VIN at this site: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls

You do not have to be a member of the NE Georgia Mustang Club to take advantage of this opportunity!

If your Mustang needs the Takata upgrade email me your name, the year of your Mustang and your Mustang’s VIN before March 2, 2020.

My email address is Rick Schmidt at hillside96@live.com

Here is background information on the Takata recall: https://performance.ford.com/enthusiasts/media-room/2019/08/airbag-recall.html

The Takata airbag recalls are the largest and most complex recalls in U.S. automotive history. The recalls currently affect 19 automotive manufacturers and roughly 37 million vehicles. Among these affected vehicles are 2005-2014 model year Mustang vehicles.  Parts are readily available to repair currently recalled Mustang vehicles. Ford sent out weekly mailings last October and November to all Mustang owners whose vehicle currently has an open Takata airbag recall. It is important that you determine if your vehicle is affected and, if so, have it repaired FREE by Ford.  In some cases, only the driver’s or passenger’s side may be affected. In other cases, both the driver’s side and passenger’s side need to be repaired.

The passenger side airbag cover is not replaced during the repair, so any signatures or other insignia on your dash will remain
