The 44th Annual Shelby Mustang & Ford Meet will be held at the Festival Grounds in Maggie Valley, North Carolina on Saturday, October 7, 2017 with Sunday, October 8, 2017 the rain date if needed. On Saturday, October 7, 2017 the show be from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM with registration until noon. Early registration will be available on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the show site. As in the past this show will be a popular vote format with awards presentation at 4:00 PM. There will be over 25 classes available with top 3 awards in each class.

There will be show T-shirts available for purchase, with last years best of show and Jim Osborn award winners centered on the back, plus there will be a 50/50 drawing that will benefit Toys for Tots. Lou or Scott will be leading the Caravan from Oakwood, GA to the Dillard House in Dillard, GA this Friday October 6th. We will leave from the Regions Bank off of GA-53 which is next to the QT where we usually meet and leave for cruises. We moved it to the Regions Bank since it is less congested. We will leave from there at 7:00 AM sharp to head for Dillard, GA. MAKE SURE YOUR GAS TANK IS FULL!!!
We plan to arrive at the Dillard House around 8:00 AM for breakfast. Those who live up that way, please feel free to meet us there and continue on the cruise to Maggie Valley, NC. For those who have not dined at the Dillard House before, it is Family Style and the cost is per person. It is good food and fill up since we go to work as soon as we arrive in Maggie Valley, NC.
Lou plans to leave the QT and go direct to Maggie Valley since he is pulling the trailer. Those who do not want to go via the Blue Ridge Parkway, please go with him.
The rest of us will follow me (Scott) or Rick Hayslip if I can sweet talk him into leading from Dillard, GA into NC and onto the Blue Ridge Parkway into Maggie Valley. We will stop at a scenic overlook and get a photo of all of our ponies in the mountains. When we arrive in Maggie Valley, we will go right to the fairgrounds and set-up. Once we are done setting up, we can all go check-in at our hotels.
We usually do club dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. We closely plan them and pick a time each day, however you do not have to go with the group. Feel free to explore and do your own thing.
On Sunday, I plan to leaving with my good friend Matt who is coming up from FL and hit antique stores and flea markets on a cruise back to Atlanta. We normally go down through Cherokee, hit an outdoor flea market, hit the antiques stores in Dillard, GA for a while and grab lunch either in Dillard or Clayton, GA. After that we hit the schoolhouse antique/flea market in Clayton and then cruise back to Flowery Branch, GA. If you want to join us on Sunday, let me know.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let Lou or me know if you are cruising with us from Oakwood or meeting us in Dillard, so we do not leave without you. We do plan on leaving at 7:00 AM sharp from Oakwood, GA. If we do miss you or you are running late, just meet us at the Dillard House in Dillard, GA which is in most GPS systems.
Lodging is available at the host hotel the Comfort Inn, with additional accomodations at Creekside Lodge, Comfort Inn, Best Western, and Microtel unless they are full. If the Maggie Valley hotels are filled there are other hotels in Waynesville, NC which is a few minutes north of the show site.
