2018 Maggie Valley Shelby, Mustang & Ford Car Show Winners

This year’s Maggie Valley Shelby, Mustang & Ford Car Show is in the books. While the threat of rain held back the number of cars attending to only 172 registered, the high quality of the cars that attended made up for the reduced numbers.

Those of you who received a First, Second or Third place award plaque will be able to locate a picture of your award presentation later in this post. But first I would like to single out the winners for Best Early Mustang, Best Late Mustang, The Jim Osborn Award and the Club Participation Award. Those winners are:

• Best Early Mustang: Tom McJunin, 1974 Mustang II

• Best Late Mustang: Lamar Newton, 2006 Mustang GT

• Jim Osborn Award: Evan Summerlin, 1971 Bronco

2018 Grovetown MCA Car Show Results

The NE Georgia Mustang Club had 3 cars brave the weather to attend the MCA National Car Show in Grovetown, GA, this past weekend. There was rain, heavy at times, on the drive down to the show and at the show on Friday. However the weather was great on both Saturday and Sunday. All three cars took gold awards in their respective classes, Ken Shoufler and Rick and Cher Hayslip in Occasionally Driven plus Suzanne and Frankie Newsom winning in President’s Choice. This was Suzanne and Frankie’s first National show, so congratulations guys.

This was also a big and well deserved win for Ken as he earned his nineteenth and twentieth points on his 2004 Mach1. Because of reaching twenty points he has earned his grill medallion which will be awarded at his next National show.

Congratulations Ken, this is the first grill medallion earned by a NE Georgia Mustang Club member in a number of years!
